Match the symptom to the cause before changing anything
Dropouts have a small number of distinct signatures, and each points somewhere specific.

Your own body is the most common obstacle
The 2.4 GHz band is absorbed readily by water, and a human being is mostly water.
A phone in a back trouser pocket puts a torso between the transmitter and the earbuds.
That single arrangement accounts for a remarkable share of complaints about "range".
Move the phone to a front pocket, a jacket pocket or a bag strap and the problem often disappears entirely.
The published 10 metre range assumes clear air, which almost nothing in daily life provides.
Higher-quality codecs are the first thing to sacrifice
LDAC carries roughly three times the data of the standard SBC codec, and it needs a clean link to do it.
On a quiet sofa that is fine. On the Northern line at half past eight it is not.
Most Android phones expose codec selection in Developer Options, and most manufacturer apps now offer a plain connection-stability toggle.
Choosing stability over quality costs less than the marketing suggests. Very few people identify LDAC in a blind test.
A perfect signal that arrives intermittently sounds far worse than a good one that never breaks.
One bud dropping while the other holds is a different fault
Modern earbuds no longer route everything through a designated primary bud, but they still maintain a link between the two.
When that link fails, one side goes silent while the other plays on happily.
Put both buds in the case, close the lid, and wait ten seconds before opening it.
That forces the pair to renegotiate, and it resolves the majority of one-sided dropouts.
If the same side fails repeatedly, clean its charging contacts before assuming a hardware fault.
Multipoint is a genuine feature and an occasional saboteur
Multipoint lets one pair of earbuds hold two devices at once, typically a laptop and a phone.
The trade-off is that the buds must decide, in real time, which device deserves the audio.
A notification chime on the idle device is enough to trigger a switch, and the switch sounds exactly like a dropout.

If your dropouts cluster around incoming messages, turn multipoint off for a week and see what changes.
Then rebuild the pairing properly: forget the earbuds on every device, reset the buds, and pair one device at a time.
Check for firmware while you are there, because dropout fixes are the most common thing these updates contain.
